Selena Gomez takes a rest from TikTok amid the ongoing Hailey Bieber drama. The Disney Channel alum has been visible online lately, addressing the issues surrounding her, her ex, Justin Bieber’s wife, Hailey Bieber, and Kylie Jenner.

But a day after making headlines for commenting on the issue, Gomez took a social media break. She said she would be calling it quits and lie low.

Before the 30-year-old deactivated her account, she announced her decision to her fans in a TikTok live. I’m very happy; I’m so blessed, she said.

She continued that she had the best friends and best fans in the whole world, so she couldn’t be happier. Despite the things said about her, she felt good, loved how she was, and didn’t care about others.

From there, Gomez announced her decision to take a second from social media, though she found it silly doing it at 30. I’m too old for this, she confessed.

However, the Only Murders in the Building star promised it would only be a short break. I love you guys so much, she added, promising to see her followers sooner than later.

Gomez reasoned she just had to take a break from everything. The Calm Down hitmaker has taken several breaks from social media, citing her mental health.

Her social media hiatus came on the heels of defending her best friend, Taylor Swift, after Hailey’s video mocking her resurfaced on TikTok. She apologized, explaining that her pal was and would continuously be the best in the game.

In the clip shared by @duckcopycat0, Justin’s wife could be seen making a gagging motion and shrugging her shoulders after hearing the Anti-Hero singer’s name. In the caption, the user said it was the real Hailey, describing her as a mean girl and bully.

Meanwhile, in an interview with Vanity Fair earlier this month, Gomez revealed TikTok was the only social media app she had on her phone. She explained that it was the only social media platform she found a little hostile.

Though there are a lot of wonderful things about social media, like connecting with fans and seeing happy and exciting stories, she knows it’s usually filtered. So, she created a system that everything she would do she would send to her assistant, who would then post them.

Regarding comments, her team will put together a few encouraging things. Talking about social media, Gomez has now surpassed Jenner as the most followed woman on Instagram.
